The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore
Perfect for fans of Gilmore Girls, Small town, mystery, grumpy x sunshine, romance
Everyone in this book needs therapy, from the high-anxiety FMC to the severe abandonment issues of the MMC and everyone around them. That being said, it doesn’t majorly detract from the overall story. This is a charming and cozy romance with no high stakes. It’s a perfect escape for the Autumn season.
Jeanie just took over her Aunt’s coffee shop and is trying to reboot her life. Logan is a local farmer simply trying to hide from his small town. When they collide, they think there’s something more but are too afraid to take the leap. This is where the nosy town comes in to help these two very dysfunctional people find love in each other.
This book kept the cozy fall vibes vibing. The banter was cute, and the characters’ fleshed-out backstories made them more dynamic.
Though this was cute, it was also fairly predictable. It’s perfect when you need an easy, fun read, but it lacks any real depth. I’m glad I read it, but it won’t be a future reread.
